French Dressage saddles are generally made upon jump trees with higher cantles giving you a very close contact feel to the horse and open seat feel for you. Sleek lines, and a sophisticated look, this lightweight saddle not only looks gorgeous but offers the rider a feel next to none. The flaps on this saddle are cut forward off the tree points allowing riders with long legs to have  position freedom, riders to be able to sit in a European position or for a rider who wants a less “locked” in feeling. The Ophelia has a forward balance seat point placing the rider closer to the front of the saddle. The flaps are cut forward of the tree points on a slight angle allowing the horses scapula to remain behind the tree points, but being able to place the saddle slightly further forward closer to the shoulder. Along with this design feature we have shorter panels making this the perfect saddle for horses needing less length of panel on their backs.

We have taken the traditional close close contact foam french panel design and modified it to accommodate wool flocking. The close contact panel rides like foam but is more forgiving to the horses back. Along with a very generous, open channel allows plenty of spinal freedom and muscle support without interfering with the horses ribs. With an adjustable wood and steel spiring tree, the wool flocked panels can be customize to your horse.
